Chemin des Sources |stage n°1 SPA - FRANCORCHAMPS
Departure from the Maison du tourisme of Spa Hautes Fagnes Ardennes
The hiker soon gains height to reach a viewpoint overlooking the town and then descends to the Lake of Warfaaz.
Along the way, you will pass by the springs of the Tonnelet, Barisart, Sauvenière, Groesbeek and Géronstère, while following paths with pontoons and duckboards along small streams with picturesque names such as "la Picherotte", "la Sauvenière", "le ru du Pendu",…This route takes you through magnificent forest areas, including the Tahanfagne Arboretum and the Berinzenne estate, its forest and water museum and its impressive 22-metre high panoramic tower, which offers an unrestricted view of the landscape of the Fagne (fen) of Malchamps and the surrounding forests.

Start at the Roannay stream
This route passes through typical Ardennes hamlets nestled in the depths of magnificent valleys where the meandering Warche and Amblève rivers and their magnificent viewpoints will remind you of the Vosges region.
After a more sportive descent, hikers can discover the Coo waterfall, the lower lake of the hydroelectric power station and the Plopsa Coo amusement park.
The walk ends with a visit to the historical centre of Stavelot and its prestigious Abbey.

Chemin des Sources | stage 4 HOCKAI - HOËGNE - SOLWASTER
Leaving the small village of Hockai by the Centenary Bridge, the Chemin des Sources takes you into the Hoëgne valley, one of the most beautiful in the region because of its numerous waterfalls. This sporty but very picturesque descent will be facilitated by the facilities (pontoons, handrails, duckboards) created by a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
As you head towards the village of Sart, well known for its typical Old Trades festival, you will see the mining slag heaps of the Liege region on the horizon. The hike ends in the village of Solwaster where many Ardennes houses made of local stone stood the test of time.

Chemin des Sources | stage 9 LA REID - SPA
From Vert Buisson, the Chemin des Sources offers you wide views and a long descent will take you to the Eau Rouge stream.
Leaving the hamlet of Winamplanche, you will take a small path to discover the Staneux forest, that you will cross to reach the Spa thermal centre via the Parc des 7 heures.

Chemin des Sources | stage 5 SOLWASTER - JALHAY
From the start, a path takes you into the Statte valley where you will discover a world of legends such as the boulder of Bilisse, the scree and the waterfall of the Nutons.
The Hautes Fagnes must be earned and it is after a long climb that the Chemin des Sources reaches the heart of its wonderful Nature Reserve. This exceptional site is a protected area where the rules are strictly applied.
The Fiancees Cross , on the Vecquée, is the highest point (640 m) of the 9 stages.
After a pleasant walk through deciduous woods, you will arrive at the village of Jalhay, the land of green cabbage.

Chemin des Sources | stage 8 THEUX - LA REID
The Chemin des Sources goes up and down through the hills, passing through hamlets scattered in the countryside hedgerows and offering beautiful views of the valleys of the Hoëgne, the Vesdre and the Amblève.
Your path goes alongside the Forestia animal park; you may be surprised to discover a lynx on a tree branch or wolves roaming in secure enclosures. After leaving La Reid village, you will walk up a hill until a ridge from where you will have a beautiful view of the Wayai Valley and the town of SPA.
The walk will end not far from the Haut Marais bower, a plant tunnel of more than 4700 plants and 573 m long.

Chemin des Sources | stage 7 JEHANSTER - THEUX
This stage takes us back to the Hoëgne valley, which passes through the village of Polleur with its beautifully restored houses and its old listed bridge.
The trail will bring you higher up to new magnificent views of the "Fenêtre de Theux", a well-known geological phenomenon. The small medieval town of Theux will not fail to delight you with its historic centre, its Perron and the Château de Franchimont.

Chemin des Sources |stage 3 STAVELOT - HOCKAI
The Chemin des Sources leaves the historic centre of Stavelot on the GR5, passing under the old railway line (line 45).
As you approach the hamlet of Amermont, you will head for the Spa Francorchamps circuit. The roar of the cars and the atmosphere of the activities around the circuit will not leave you indifferent.
The end of the hike will take you to the villages of Ster and Hockai located at the foot of the Hautes-Fagnes, where you will find peace and quiet and beautiful countryside hedgerows landscapes.

Chemin des Sources |stage n°6 JALHAY - LA GILEPPE - JEHANSTER
The easiest stage of the hike. However, don't hike with a full backpack in order to make it easier for you to climb the kissing gates that take us to the lake Gileppe dam. Don't hesitate to climb to the top floor of the panoramic tower to admire the majestic Lion and the wide view of our forests. As you cross the countryside hedgerows, take the time to notice the hillsides of Verviers and the slag heaps of Liege before entering Jehanster village.
